One of the most potent and powerful antioxidants that is freely available to everyone has been placed directly beneath our feet.

Grounding or Earthing

Mother Earth is a stronghold of negatively charged free electrons that serve as powerful antioxidants just waiting to be utilized.

This natural storehouse of electrons and subtle electrical fields is essential to the smooth operation of our circulation and immune systems. It provides the most effective antioxidant even though it is the least expensive and easiest to obtain.

“Grounding” or “earthing” as it is called, is the act of walking and placing bare feet directly against the earth.

This can be done on grass, sand, concrete (as long as it is not painted or sealed in any way) dirt and even ceramic tile.

Being in direct contact with the earth is highly beneficial to health and minimizes the consequences that exposure to potentially disruptive electromagnetic fields cause. Without this connection the cells in our bodies are not able to balance the positive charge which results from things like electron-deficient free radicals.

Our ancestors did not have to make it a point to go out and “earth” themselves because their natural activities and lifestyles required them to do so. Most of them even slept directly on the earth…silently benefiting from it.

In other words, mankind has been “earthing” forever. It is nothing new…we just were not aware yet of the subtle electrical signals the body was receiving that in turn was helping our bodily systems function at peak performance.

Our modern lifestyles no longer demand activities outside anymore. Instead, we are directly exposed to a wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiation from computers, TV’s, radios , mobile phones, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, power lines and other electrical appliances daily. The damaging effects of lacking this earthly connection is on the rise and many people are suffering as a result.

Something as simple as reconnecting and strengthening our bond with Mother Earth could be the solution and missing link to curing chronic inflammation, the cause behind most common modern diseases and the result of too many “free radicals” in the body.

Free Radicals –

Free radicals are molecules that are unstable so they seek to stabilize by bonding with healthy molecules or cells. This in turn causes damage to cells or to DNA contained within the cells damaging healthy tissue.

Free radicals are not our friends. These rogue molecules play roles in everything from aging to autoimmune diseases and the development of cancer. Everyday every cell in the body is being attacked 10,000 times by these destructive villains. That’s a lot of warfare going on inside. If you are not giving your body the defense it needs to fight off these free radicals, disease is the end result.

Antioxidants –

Antioxidants work in part by quenching free radicals. The healthy unprocessed foods we eat supply us with these free radical destroyers or we get them by absorbing electrons direction through the skin when we come in contact with the Earth.

The rich nerve endings in our feet make them the ideal conductors of these health building electrons but you can also take advantage of this “earthing” and “grounding” method by sitting or lying down directly on the earth. This is an excellent way to absorb free electrons from the earth.

Earthing not only helps get our immune system humming along strong and healthy but it supplies us with earthly negatively charged electrons that go a long towards relieving anxiety and stress as well.
